Candle Burn Time

How long can I burn my candle?

The length of time varies according to the size of the candle. If you burn a candle too long, the glass heats up, the wick over heats and too much wax melts. This all contributes to smoking.

——–

For a small candle, such as a Downlights Mini Crystal Candle (4.5cm diameter) burn for a maximum of 2 -3 hours.

——–

For a medium sized candle, such as Downlights preserving jar candle (6-9 cm diameter), burn for 3-4 hours.

——–

To extinguish your candle, we recommend you use a Wick Snuffer or gently blow it out. It is important to check the wick is fully extinguished. We do not recommend you use the lid, a liquid or another object placed over top of the candle to extinguish the flame.

——–

Please ensure you extinguish your candle when there is a 10mm layer of wax at the bottom for precautionary safety.

——–

Fragrance, burn time, habits and environmental conditions all influence the burn time of a candle and the appearance of the wax.

——–

You can reuse your candle by placing the vessel in your freezer for several hours, then use the tip of a butter knife to gently crack the wax. Wait for the glass to come to room temperature, then rinse it out with warm soapy water.

We love mother nature as much as you do and we encourage you to reuse your empty vessels in as many adventurous ways that you can reuse your candle containers for all sorts of storage options such as housing your cotton buds, jewellery or make- up brushes, or as a vase for flowers.
