What not to do when making a candle

Every candle maker will have a list of tricks up their sleeves accumulated from years of making candles AND years of  making mistakes.

Here is a list of some of the easiest mistakes that result in a CANDLE CATASTROPHE!

  • Forgetting to take a tare of your jug when adding the wax or fragrance could lead to adding too much or too little fragrance !

  • Adding fragrance at too high or too low a temperature. Easy to do!

  • Overheating the wax. Pouring your candle/fragrance mix at too low or too high a temperature.

  • Using the same wick size for different fragrances in the same container. DISASTER ZONE!

  • Not wick testing.DISASTER ZONE!

  • Melting the wax in the microwave.  AHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!

  • Changing the room temperature by leaving a door open that is letting in extra cold air or extra cool air.

  • Pouring when your containers are cold 🙁

  • Not leaving adequate space between setting candles
